FROM THE NORTH
From Calais either
Take the A16 to Paris, then the A10 towards Orleans; this becomes the A71 to
Vierzon. At Vierzon take the A20 towards Limoges
OR (to avoid Paris)
Take the A16 to Abbeville, then turn off onto the A28 to Rouen; from there head
for Alencon and Le Mans (see below)
From Cherbourg, Ouistreham (Caen) and Le Havre head for Caen, from the ring-road taking Sortie 13 (N158) to Alencon, joining the A28 towards Le Mans.
From Le Mans follow signs to Tours, and then take the N143 towards Chateauroux, joining the A20 southbound towards Limoges.
EXIT the A20 at sortie 28, and follow signs for Angouleme (N520). After leaving the motorway roundabout, go straight on at the next roundabout, and continue for some distance to the next roundabout, where the N141 Limoges – Angouleme road passes underneath. You must continue straight on, now following signs for Perigueux on the D2000. This will lead you onto the N21 SP Perigueux and Chalûs. From here there are two options:
Simple route: Continue to Chalûs, where turn R at the second set of traffic lights SP Rochechouart D901. After 9km there is a camping sign – take the next left SP Champagnac la Riviere, and Parc Verger is 200m on your left.
Alternative route
(shorter but more bends/hills): After passing through the next village, Sereilhac,
continue for a further 5km when you turn right onto the D699 SP Gorre. Passing
through the village stay on the D699 through a sharp left turn, and continue
to the junction with the D901, where turn left towards Chalûs. After 1
km turn right SP Champagnac la Riviere, and Parc Verger is 200m on your left.
NOTE that there is a turn to Champagnac La Riviere from the D699 shortly before
the junction with the D901, but this is narrow and not recommended for large
vehicles nor those towing.
From Roscoff or St Malo, follow the signs for Rennes, then N137 to Nantes, and A83 to Niort, by-passing the town and joining the A10 south towards Bordeaux. Exit at the first sortie (32) and take the d948 towards Melle and Limoges. Continue on the D948 through Sauze Vaussais – a good place to buy diesel is the Super-U on your right as you leave the town. The road shortly becomes the D148, and then regains its D948 number as it approaches Confolens. 14km after Confolens turn right to Chabanais on the D29; at the main road turn right into the village centre, where turn left SP Rochechouart (still D29). Stay on this road to Rochechouart, from where take the D901 towards Chalus. 5km after going through Oradour-sur-Vayres turn right SP Champagnac La Riviere, and Parc Verger is 150m on your left.
FROM THE WEST
From Bordeaux
Take the A89 to Perigueux, then the N21 north to Chalus. At the crossroads (2nd set of t-lights) turn left towards Champsac and Rochechouarrt; after 9km turn left SP Champagnac la Riviere, and Parc Verger is 150m on the left.
FROM THE SOUTH
From Toulouse
Take the A20 north towards Limoges. Leave the A20 at Brive, and take the A89
autoroute west (SP Perigueux & Bordeaux), leaving at sortie 16 for Perigueux.
Continue towards Perigueux; but before reaching the city take the N21 north
SP Limoges.
Continue on the N21 north to Chalus. At the crossroads (3rd set of t-lights,
but CARE – the third set is immediately after the second!) turn left towards
Champsac and Rochechouarrt; after 9km (500m after campsite sign) turn left SP
Champagnac la Riviere, and Parc Verger is 150m on the left.
FROM THE EAST
From Lyon follow signs for Clermont-Ferrand, from where follow the A89 to join the A20 northbound (SP Limoges); then follow directions from Toulouse above.
